Ida Genta
Associate Professor
Ida received her Master Degree and PhD in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Pavia (Italy) and post-graduate specialization degree in Industrial Pharmacy.
Her main recent research line deals with tailored formulations of targeted smart nanocarriers (antibody-conjugated and/or specific biopolymers) for the tunable and selective delivery of synthetic drugs and macromolecules (i.e., proteins, RNAs) as well as diagnostics/contrast agents. Main therapeutic areas include cancers (i.e., desmoplastic tumors), cardiovascular and chronic inflammatory diseases. Great expertise on developing GMP-oriented microfluidics-based techniques and apparatus for the manufacturing of novel lipidic and polymeric nanocarriers.
She is deeply involved in designing and developing of 2D/3D scaffolds for tissue regeneration (bone, cartilage, soft tissues) by electrospinning and 3D printing technologies and combining biocompatible synthetic/natural polymers and/or small entities (i.e., peptides, newly synthetized peptides and peptidomimetics).
Since 2001, I’m an associate Professor for Pharmaceutical Technology in the Department of Drug Sciences at the University of Pavia. I’m the coordinator of the II level Master degree in Pharmacy.
